ASSA ABLOY’s Mobile Keys solutions for NFC locking, wireless security and access control were highlighted by the GSM Association (GSMA) at Mobile World Congress, the mobile industry’s biggest event, which took place from 27 February to March 1 in Barcelona.
The GSMA represents the interests of nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, in more than 220 countries worldwide, and ASSA ABLOY was proud to be associated with such a distinguished partner.
At its booth, the GSMA demonstrated the ability to open a VingCard Signature lock with an ASSA ABLOY Mobile Keys-enabled Samsung Galaxy S2 phone fitted with a near-field communication (NFC) SIM. During the “NFC: Advancing The Mobile Ecosystem” event, the GSMA also launched a Mobile NFC case study video entitled “Access Control”, which featured a variety of ASSA ABLOY Mobile Keys solutions.
Mobile World Congress 2012 attracted record crowds as more than 67,000 attendees from 205 countries demonstrated how they are Redefining Mobile – the theme of the event.
Nearly 1,500 companies showcased their mobile products across eight halls at the Fira Montjuïc exhibition venue, and ASSA ABLOY was represented through its association with the GSMA.
